USFL ANNOUNCES GAME ASSIGNMENTS FOR WEEK 3
First 12 of 40 regular-season games in Birmingham now set
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 21, 2022 – The new United States Football League (USFL) today announced the dates, start times, location, and telecast schedule for its Week 3 games:
WEEK 3 (April 30-May 1)
Tampa Bay Bandits at Houston Gamblers (Saturday, 4/30 at 4:00 PM ET on FOX)
Pittsburgh Maulers at Michigan Panthers (Saturday, 4/30 at 8:00 PM ET on FOX
Birmingham Stallions at New Orleans Breakers (Sunday, May 1 at 2:30 PM ET on USA)
New Jersey Generals at Philadelphia Stars (Sunday, May 1 at 8:00 PM ET on Peacock)
Protective Stadium will host all four weekend games in Week 3. The schedule features two North Division primetime rivalries, with Pittsburgh at Michigan on Saturday, April 30 on FOX (8:00 PM ET), and New Jersey taking on Philadelphia in a Turnpike rumble on Sunday, May 1 on Peacock (8:00 PM ET), the first of the streaming service’s four exclusive presentations this season. South Division rivalries are featured during the day, as Tampa Bay faces Houston on Saturday, April 30 (4:00 PM ET on FOX), and New Orleans hosts Birmingham on Sunday, May 1 (2:30 PM ET on USA).
Week 3 game assignments came earlier than anticipated. Typically, the league will announce game assignments no later than the Monday two weeks prior (e.g., Week 4 specifics are expected to be announced on Monday, April 25, Week 5 specifics on Monday, May 2, etc.). Specific dates, start times, and locations are set for Weeks 1-3, and all 40 regular-season team versus team matchups in Birmingham are listed below.
The USFL inaugural season officially kicks off on April 16 at 7:30 PM ET (6:30 PM CT) at Protective Stadium. The primetime matchup pits the New Jersey Generals against the Birmingham Stallions and will be presented live on FOX, NBC, and Peacock. All regular-season tickets will be “single day,” which allows entry to all USFL games played in Birmingham on any one date. Adult general admission tickets are $10, and each adult can receive up to three free single-day tickets for children under 15. General admission, premium, and reserved tickets are now available for purchase at theUSFL.com.
The top two teams in the North and South Divisions will battle in two playoff semifinal games on Saturday, June 25, with the division winners matching up in the first-ever USFL Championship Game on Sunday, July 3. All three postseason games will be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
