LIV GOLF COMES TO MICHIGAN: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE LEAGUE’S 2025 TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEK

WESTFIELD, IN (August 18, 2025) – LIV Golf Michigan tees off this Friday through Sunday at The Cardinal at Saint John’s in Plymouth, as fans welcome many of golf’s biggest names for the League’s Michigan debut for LIV Golf’s 2025 Team Championship. The three-day event will feature an all-new Team Championship competition format, an immersive Fan Village with activities for all ages, concert co-headliners Imagine Dragons (Saturday at 2:30 p.m.) and Swedish House Mafia (Sunday at 7:00 p.m.), and can’t-miss action and entertainment all weekend long. Play will kick off with shotgun starts at 12:05 p.m. on Friday, 10:05 a.m. on Saturday, and 1:05 p.m. for Sunday’s final round. Tickets start at just around $40 at LIVGolf.com, with complimentary admission for kids 12 and under at entry and free parking for all attendees. MAJOR CHAMPIONS AND THE BIGGEST NAMES IN THE GAME The League’s 13 four-player teams feature a collective 14 major champions with a combined 28 major championships and are led by many of the biggest stars in the game, including: 2025 LIV Golf Individual Champion, Jon Rahm (Legion XIII), 2024 Team Champion and Ripper GC captain Cameron Smith, Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers GC), Brooks Koepka (Smash GC), Phil Mickelson (HyFlyers GC), Dustin Johnson (4Aces GC), Joaquin Niemann (Torque GC), Sergio Garcia (Fireballs GC), Tyrrell Hatton (Legion XIII), and many more.

Ripper GC claimed the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship victory in Dallas last season, and Captain Cameron Smith returns with his team to defend the title. As LIV Golf Michigan approaches, Legion XIII holds a 62-point lead over Crushers GC in the 2025 standings, but with only one point separating the second-place Crushers GC and third-place Fireballs GC. Torque GC and 4Aces GC remain firmly in contention, while Ripper GC, Stinger GC, and the rest of the field will aim to break through in head-to-head match play and claim the season’s final prize.

NEW TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION FORMAT

The 2025 LIV Golf Team Championship in Michigan will feature format updates that raise the stakes and ensure fans can watch the League’s biggest stars compete throughout the weekend.

Wednesday, August 20: Play-In Match*

• Teams seeded 12th and 13th based on regular season standings through LIV Golf Indianapolis face off in a single-elimination match play round

• The round will consist of two singles matches and one alternate-shot (foursomes) match between the two teams, with a total of three points available

• The first team to secure two points is the winner

• The losing team is eliminated and does not advance to the Quarterfinals

• *Updates and highlights to be available across LIV Golf digital platforms

Friday, August 22: Quarterfinals (Match Play) – Shotgun Start at 12:05 p.m.

• The remaining 12 teams compete in the match-play Quarterfinals

• Matchups are selected by the captains of the highest-ranked teams

• Each team contest will consist of two singles matches and one alternate-shot (foursomes) match, with a total of three points available

• The first team to secure two points within each contest is the winner

Saturday, August 23: Semifinals (Match Play) – Shotgun Start at 10:05 a.m.

• The Quarterfinals’ six winning teams advance to the Championship Bracket

• The Quarterfinals’ six losing teams continue play in the Rankings Bracket

• Matchups are again selected by the captains of the highest-ranked teams

• Both brackets follow the match play format from Friday

• The three winning teams from the Championship Bracket advance to play for the Team Championship title

Sunday, August 24: Finals (Stroke Play) – Shotgun Start at 1:05 p.m.

• The final day shifts to stroke play

• All 48 players compete, with each team’s score comprised of all four player scores on the team

• All teams will earn final positions based on their finishes within the respective tiers:

o 1st-3rd – Championship Bracket Finalists

o 4th-6th – Losing teams from the Championship Bracket Semifinals

o 7th-9th – Winning teams from the Rankings Bracket

o 10th-12th – Losing teams from the Rankings Bracket

The team with the lowest total score among the Championship Bracket finalists is crowned the 2025 LIV Golf Team Champion.

LIVE CONCERTS BY IMAGINE DRAGONS AND SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA IMMEDIATELY AFTER GOLF

Fans with tickets for Saturday and/or Sunday’s rounds will have access to performances from Imagine Dragons (Saturday at 2:30 p.m.) and Swedish House Mafia (Sunday at 7:00 p.m.) following play. Each performance will last for approximately 90 minutes. Fans can purchase tickets with VIP concert add-ons for each day, with options ranging from upgraded stage views with Concert Zone A or Concert Pit tickets, to fully upgraded experiences with VIP Backstage Lounge or Legends Circle Experience packages here.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 23 AT 2:30 PM: IMAGINE DRAGONS

Anthems like “Don’t You Worry Child,” “Miami 2 Ibiza,” “One (Your Name),” and “Save the World” by the legendary trio of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso helped define the global dance scene and will serve as the heart-thumping soundtrack to celebrate the final day of competition as LIV Golf crowns the 2025 Team Champions.

FREE PARKING, RIDESHARE DETAILS AND START TIMES

Fans can park for free at 15000 Ridge Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170. Parking lots open one hour before gates each day, at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. All lots will close no less than 60 minutes after gates close daily. Complimentary shuttles will be provided to and from the main entrance of the golf course each day, beginning 30 minutes after the lots open. Allow 15-20 minutes for transportation to and from the venue. There is no public parking at Saint John’s Resort or in the surrounding neighborhoods.

ABOUT THE CARDINAL AT SAINT JOHN’S The 2025 LIV Golf Team Champion will be crowned at The Cardinal at Saint John’s, marking the first time the venue will host a professional golf tournament. Located in the Detroit metropolitan area, The Cardinal features tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, and water hazards that come into play on several holes. The layout blends generous landing areas with subtle challenges designed to test accuracy and course management. Opened in 2024, the course is set to provide a new stage for LIV Golf’s 13 teams as they compete for the season-ending title.
