Opening night for the 2022-23 season at Little Caesars Arena was surely one to remember. The game was scoreless heading into the third period, but the Red Wings’ offense had been electric. Through the first period alone, they had 25 shots on goal which was more than they had in an entire game last season. Period 1 in a packed house of 19,000k fans, the Detroit Red Wings control the puck in the first period. The Shots on Goal in the first period was an outstanding 25 Red Wings vs 10 Montreal Canadiens.


Period 2 was a salute for service presented by Kroger to Adam Fisher, he was presented for service with #22 red wings Jersey. The Shots on goal in the second period was 9 Red Wings vs 8 Montreal Canadiens.


Period 3 This period held so many moments and was the game changer for the Detroit Red Wings. With 17:27 minutes in the 3rd period the Red Wings scored the 1st goal scored by #85 Elmer Soderblom and it’s his Elmer Soderblom 1st NHL goal, and #70 Oskar Sundquist pass puck to Elmer Soderblom for the goal. Ville Husso made 29 saves and the Detroit Red Wings won in Derek Lalonde's first game as a head coach, beating the Montreal Canadiens 3-0 on Friday night. Total Shots on goal all periods 40 Red Wings vs 29 Montreal Canadiens.


Detroit Red Wings Head Coach Derek Lalonde, Tampa Bay’s former top assistant, replaced Jeff Blashill after the Red Wings failed to make the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season. “The important thing is not only getting the first win but getting it the right way,” Lalonde said. “We played a complete game tonight. You worry a little about the psyche of playing well and not getting rewarded with the outcome. Tonight, it all came through for us.”
