CHICAGO, Ill. – The Big Ten Network's 2024 men's and women's lacrosse television coverage begins this weekend, broadcasting at least 27 games and streaming over 60 additional matchups on B1G+.
Coverage of Big Ten women’s lacrosse begins on March 3, as Rutgers hosts Oregon in a non-conference matchup. Conference play on BTN opens with Maryland visiting Ohio State on March 16, and concludes with Northwestern at Michigan on April 21. In addition, BTN will televise the Big Ten women’s lacrosse semifinals and championship game from Evanston, Ill., May 2-4.
Big Ten men’s lacrosse coverage kicks off on March 16, as Maryland hosts Virginia at 3 p.m. ET. Conference play is highlighted by five Sunday matchups, including a doubleheader on March 24, as Penn State takes on Ohio State at 2:30 p.m. ET, followed by Rutgers hosting Johns Hopkins at 4:30 p.m. ET. BTN will also televise the Big Ten men’s lacrosse semifinals and championship game from Columbus, Ohio, May 2-4.
Big Ten Network’s men’s lacrosse coverage will be led by play-by-play broadcaster Joe Beninati with analysis provided by Mark Dixon. Jason Knapp and Dean Linke will handle play-by-play responsibilities for women’s lacrosse coverage, while Taylor Cummings and Caley Chelios will join the booth as analysts.
The latest IWLCA Division I women’s poll includes six Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25, led by No. 3 Northwestern, and followed by No. 6 Michigan, No. 9 Maryland, No. 15 Johns Hopkins, No. 22 Rutgers and No. 25 Penn State. All six Big Ten men’s teams are ranked in the most recent USILA Division I men’s poll, including No. 3 Maryland, No. 7 Johns Hopkins, No. 11 Michigan, No. 12 Penn State, No. 16 Rutgers and No. 20 Ohio State.
